Overview

In 45 minutes, an original and comfortable visit with live commentary to discover the monuments and curiosities of Puy-en-Velay.

Departure of the visits Place Michelet (Parking coachs and buses) follow city center: from May 02nd to September 30th 7D/7.

Outside these dates on reservation for groups of 20 people minimum.

Comfortably installed, I discover a view of the Ponote* city, name given to the inhabitants of Le Puy en Velay and its main monuments built on the side of Mount Anis.

I walk along the old fortifications and I reach the heart of the historic city through the royal gate which leads me to the foot of the grand staircase of the cathedral listed as a UNESCO heritage site.

The visit continues with beautiful residences dating from the 14th to the 17th century to bring me to the jewel of Romanesque art, the chapel of Saint Michel located at the top of a volcanic chimney and also the statue of Notre-Dame de France at the top of the Rocher Corneille.

After all these splendours I discover the city center, its magnificent facades and its ancient fountains.

Le Puy en Velay has many specialties: digestive liqueur: the Verveine du Velay Pagès, hand made lace, the green lentil of Le Puy en Velay AOP, …

All these curiosities are commented live and downtime allows photo poses.

Tickets are sold on board.
A sign at the departure of the Petit Train indicates the free timetables.

Reservation is mandatory for groups of more than 20 people.
Reservations can be made using the form at the right, by email or by phone.
What are the ticket prices?
During the day, the visit lasts 45 minutes:

Individual rates :
Adults : 8 € Children - 12 years old : 5 €.

Group rates from 20 people only during the day:
Adults : 7,50 €/Person + 1 free for 30 persons.


In the night, the visit lasts 1H30 : on reservation only by phone at 04.71.02.70.70
In July and August on Tuesdays and Fridays at nightfall.
Adults : 10 € Children - 12 years old : 5 €.
What are the departure times?
Le Petit Train runs 7 days a week from May 2 to September 30. For groups, reservation is possible all year round.

Departure times are as follows:
- 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.
- 6pm (only in July and August)
- 9pm (only in August, Night visits " Puy de Lumières ", on reservation)
- 9:30pm (only in July, Night visits "Puy de Lumières", on reservation)

Reservation is necessary during the day for groups.
What is a nocturnal?
The nocturnal is a visit at nightfall of Puy-en-Velay by Petit Train of 1h30 which allows discovering another face of the monuments, within the framework of the "Puy de Lumières".
Available in July and August, the nocturne adds a departure at 9:00 pm in August and a departure at 9:30 pm in July.
